This program awards small grants to neighbors for gathering around special interests and community projects in Palouse, Washington.

Mother Prairie
Corbin LaMont
We're making Mother Prairie and Coyote puppets for Palouse Days—to celebrate the land, community and bring freaky shit to Main Street.

Palouse City Drum Corps
Annie Orchard
We are pulling together a small drum corps to help energize the Palouse Days Parade, and other events in the future.






Barn Dance
June Sanders
Queer line / two step dance for the local community. This project is rooted in building joyful queer spaces, teaching dancing, and sinking into our rural queer identities <3

Mend & Make Do
Lotus Norton-Wisla
A mending workshop, bringing neighbors together to share techniques to sew/patch/embellish fabric, get to know each other, and fix treasured belongings.

A Reading in Palouse
Abigail Hansel

A reading of poetry and prose at the Strange Grange featuring works by local writers: Miriam Åkervall, Taylor Roseweeds, and Abigail Hansel.

Live Karoake Open Mic Nat Prauser & Jens Hegg

Jens and Nat will be co-hosting a monthly open mic night on the second Saturday of every month. The most special aspect of the Open Mic night will be its Karaoke-esque fusion: performers that need accompianment can propose songs for either Jens or Natalie to learn on guitar prior to the Open Mic night.

Corbin LaMont
My studio is based in Palouse, Washington and can also be found on truck tailgates, picnic tables, and remotely around the world. Presently, I am apart of the artist group Strange Grange, an analog community venue for intergenerational exchange, and deputy chair of the Palouse Planning Commission. My work aims to replace the mindset of individualism with one of interdependence through alternative figures, architecture and phrases.

Annie OrchardAnn Orchard lives on the edge of Palouse.

Lotus Norton-WislaLotus is an artist and archivist living in Palouse, Washington. Lotus enjoys making visual art, being in nature, and gathering people together. Lately, they have been making art through embroidery, collage, pressed flowers, and zines.
June SandersJune T Sanders is an educator, artist, and builder in Palouse WA whose work in art and community centers around social practice, creating rural art spaces, and building neighborhood infrastructure.
